Originally from the West African coastal country of Liberia, Togba Norris and his family immigrated to the US as political refugees when he was 5 years old, and was raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Togba began his professional career as a Minneapolis stage actor and Hip Hop dancer, working as an actor with Youth Performance Company, Theatre in the Round Players, Mixed Blood Theatre, Illusion Theatre, and The Guthrie Theatre mainstage and lab. His introduction to The Guthrie was under the direction of Broadway, Tony, and international award winning theatre directors Bartlett Sher, Joe Dowling, and Sari Ketter, and he's also played a principal role in Nigerian playwright Femi Osofisun's production of "Many Colors Make the Thunder-King'' shortly after graduating high school, Togba's stage work landed him on a short list of young actors to work with in Minnesota.
Togba's dedication, ferocity and talent have not been regimented to just the stage. He has appeared in numerous regional and national commercials, industrial videos, and print ads for Best Buy, Coca-Cola, Great Clips, Houlihan's Restaurant chains, Old Chicago Restaurant, The Learning Company, Wilsons Leather, Dayton Hudson/ Marshall Field's, Target, Mervyn's, Wells Fargo, and Northwest Airlines.
He relocated to LA in 2003, continued pursuing theatre with the Theatre @ Boston Court under the direction of Darin Anthony and with Noah Wyle's Blank Theatre Company. Togba has now branched into Film and Episodic TV.
Togba is based in NYC, and continues to work between LA, NYC, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Toronto, and Minneapolis & St. Paul (Twin Cities).
